Welcoming another person into your hands
In order to learn
how to shape our hands to the shape of another person's body, we need to loosen
the tensions that we habitually hold not only in our hands, arms and shoulders
but also in our trunk and legs. We explore the body as an open channel between
the ground and the body of the other. We find support and space in our own body
in order to be able to transmit this sensation to the other person and to
accompany them in the motions of their breathing without altering ours. The
gravitational force adds on to ours. When all this gets transmitted through our
hands, the person feels safe, supported by a greater force. There is space to
be as one is and to feel as one feels. We do not impose any model that one
would need to resist or strive to adopt. The person can relax.
