Breathing with trees
Walking among trees and breathing with them
- we explore the
usual movement pattern
- we see what it's
like to move with more support, freedom of movement and responsiveness
- we observe the view
of the world and of oneself from both perspectives, that of the habitual holding
pattern and that of a body supported by gravity
- we note the
differences between one form and the other.
The duration of the walk is about 3 hours and takes place in the forest,
a more open space instead of the closed spaces inside buildings.
Living nature and the universe as a whole form a perfect dynamic network of
interrelated and interwoven parts and rhythmic processes, including us and the
trees. We are points of correlation in this uninterrupted and interconnected
network of events, movements, relationships and energies. As we walk through
the forest, we explore the patterns and habits that govern our movements in
life and our ways of being in the world. We will discover how to use the breath
to find the best possible relationship between the body, the environment and
our inner being. Then it will be a matter of applying the discoveries in
everyday life and practicing and practicing.
Becoming aware of the relationship between the shapes of the body and the
ground when you move, allows us to go beyond our habitual pattern of movement
and discover new ways of moving with more support, more freedom of movement and
more responsiveness.
In a second and third walking session it will be possible to explore
more deeply the habitual holding pattern and the remembered present of the
belief systems that constitute the emotional background tone of life.
