"Con los pies en el suelo" describes how we organize our bodies based on our life experiences and how emotional and mental content, learned patterns and models, and beliefs about ourselves, the world, and society contribute to shaping them. It presents a method, the Duggan/French Approach (DFA) for Somatic Pattern Recognition, which, through highly specific manual techniques, detects the areas of the body that we keep out of our conscious awareness through muscle tension and teaches us how to release it. In this way, we learn to orient ourselves in relation to the Earth's gravitational force and to move and express ourselves with greater freedom and pleasure, and with less effort and pain. We learn to feel our emotions, to channel their flow, and to enter into a constructive dialogue with them. This second edition of the book delves deeper into the applications of the method.

With the DFA, we gain greater structural stability and responsiveness. By examining the memories held in implicit memory, which are reflected in bodily sensations, we can distinguish those that correspond to our own experience from those that originate in the experiences of our parents and grandparents. We can then process our own experiences and leave theirs with them. In this way, the bonds of love that unite us are strengthened, even beyond death, and those damaged by the defense mechanisms against trauma are repaired. The benefits this brings to physical and mental health, personal relationships, and peaceful coexistence are immeasurable.
