Movement is not just what we do, but also what we are. Breathing, thinking, feeling, speaking, acting, behaving, dealing with one another, living alone and living together: all of this is movement; body and mind fluid systems which move. Everything that we do in life, we do moving our bodies. This is evident when it comes to professional, recreational and whatever else activities. Even while sitting still, or when we try to find a moment of tranquillity and rest from our active life, freedom of movement in our body is fundamental if we want to enjoy every moment.
Habitual and unconscious holding limits our freedom of movement and ability to respond to the demands of the situations in which we find ourselves every day. It keeps us separate from the resources that are available to us simply because they are in our nature. It keeps us trapped in stereotyped patterns of behaviour.
When we let the tension go, we move with fluidity and find support in our own body as well as in the gravitational field of planet Earth. When we allow ourselves to be held up by gravity instead of struggling against its pull, we stimulate the vital processes in our organs and we delay the process of aging. We discover that we can develop a relationship of participation with our environment instead of feeling as if we were a victim of circumstances or having to struggle to dominate the world around us.
All workshops and courses offer specific experiences through practical exercises, backed up by the information needed to be able to integrate and apply this experience to different situations of daily life. These workshops are adapted to the specific needs of every group. They can be open to individual participants, or they can be restricted to existing groups from companies, institutions, associations and other organizations. In open workshops organized by ermie in Spain, the language is Spanish unless the group is to be a closed group for English speakers.
